Miles of Pennies Fund
A Penny Saved
A penny isn’t much any more — you wouldn’t miss it at all — but it can change the life of student and assist parishes devastated by natural disaster. Look for the red basket in the hallway of the parish building. Drop your change — not just pennies — in every week. We take these pennies, count them, wrap them, and send them to the Church Periodical Club for the Miles of Pennies drive.
In the past, our diocese has been a leading contributor to the Miles of Pennies fund. This fund helps students worldwide purchase school books and other written materials; it also helps parishes replace the Book of Common Prayer destroyed by disasters. All of us who live in Florida understand disasters and what a church family can mean in the aftermath. The maximum grant given by Miles of Pennies is $844.80 which represents one mile of pennies.
